Value added of chemical materials and products manufacturing down 0.9% year-on-year in November


The National Bureau of Statistics released data on December 15 showing that in November, the value added of industries above the scale increased by 3.8% year-on-year in real terms, up 11.1% over the same period in 2019, with a two-year average growth of 5.4%. Among them, the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry fell 0.9% year-on-year.

By three major categories, in November, the value added of the mining industry grew by 6.2% year-on-year; manufacturing grew by 2.9%; and electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply grew by 11.1%.

By economic type, in November, the value added of state-controlled enterprises grew by 3.6% year-on-year; joint-stock enterprises grew by 4.5%, foreign and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-invested enterprises grew by 1.9%; private enterprises grew by 3.9%.

By industry, in November, the value added of 41 major industries in 29 industries maintained year-on-year growth. Agricultural and food processing industry grew by 7.0%, textile industry fell by 3.5%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry fell by 0.9%, non-metallic mineral products industry fell by 4.0%, ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry fell by 11.2%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry fell by 1.2%, general equipment manufacturing industry grew by 2.8%, special equipment manufacturing industry grew by 4.0%, automobile manufacturing industry fell 4.7%, railway, ship, aerospace and other transport equipment manufacturing industry grew 3.6%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry grew 9.4%, computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry grew 13.5%, electricity, heat production and supply industry grew 10.1%.

By product, in November, 612 kinds of products, there are 283 kinds of products production year-on-year growth. Steel 101.03 million tons, down 14.7%; cement 199.58 million tons, down 18.6%; ten non-ferrous metals 5.35 million tons, down 0.7%; ethylene 2.31 million tons, up 2.7%; 2.773 million vehicles, down 7.1%, of which 477,000 new energy vehicles, up 112.0%; power generation 654 billion kilowatt hours, up 0.2%; crude oil processing volume of 59.64 million tons, an increase of 2.2%.

In November, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises was 97.0%, down 1.4 percentage points year-on-year; industrial enterprises achieved export delivery value of RMB 138.55 billion, a nominal increase of 12.6% year-on-year.

From January to November, the value added of industries above the scale increased by 10.1% year-on-year, with a two-year average growth of 6.1%. Among them, the added value of chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry increased by 8.5% year-on-year.
