The Ministry of Ecology and Environment clarifies: seven types of waste from resin granulation are not considered hazardous waste

Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced the "List of Excluded Management of Hazardous Waste (2021 Edition)", which clarifies that solid waste required by the list is not hazardous waste.

Seven types of waste generated from the pelletizing process during the production of resins are included in the list, they are: polyethylene (PE) resin, polypropylene (PP) resin, polystyrene (PS) resin, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin and other seven types of resins Unqualified products, pancake materials, floor materials, water-logged materials and transitional materials generated during the pelletizing process to produce products.

The General Office of the State Council issued the "strengthen the supervision of hazardous waste and the use of disposal capacity reform implementation plan" to improve the identification of hazardous waste system to put forward clear requirements. The first is to dynamically adjust the National List of Hazardous Wastes according to the practice and research results of hazardous waste identification, making the hazardous wastes included in the list more precise and scientific, and implementing specific exemptions for hazardous waste categories with low environmental risks. Second, the establishment of a list of hazardous waste exclusion management, with a focus on the current environmental management of the identification of controversial properties of waste, such as the identification and screening of solid waste does not have dangerous characteristics, to avoid "excessive" identification, repeated identification.
