1. Thermal separation method
The use of heating to change the plasticity of the paper-plastic separation method.
(1) hot cylinder method: separation device consists of an electrically heated chrome-plated material cylinder and a hollow cylinder with a scraper inside (drum), the scraper is connected to the wall of the heated cylinder, both of which rotate in the opposite direction, and a trough is connected to the bottom of the cylinder. The material is added from the feed, where the plastic components begin to melt once in contact with the hot barrel, attach to the barrel wall and are scraped off with the scraper, falling into the trough. This method can separate more than 90% of the plastic from the paper and the amount of paper contained in the plastic that has been separated is very small and can be controlled to less than 1%.
(2) Hot airflow method: the use of plastic film shrinkage in the presence of heat, reducing the principle of specific area to achieve the separation of plastic film and paper. The mixture of film and paper is sent to a heating zone, where the heating box can be an agricultural grain dryer in the form of granules, thus reducing its surface area, and then the mixture of it and paper is sent to an air separator, where the air flow takes the paper out of the mixture and the thermoplastic particles fall to the bottom of the separator. This method almost completely separates the plastic from the paper.
2. Wet separation
The light material from the dry separation plant is fed into a churning machine, where the churned pulp flows through small holes in the sorting plate, leaving the plastic behind in a separator outlet, which is then fed into a dewatering machine and then into an air separator for separation.
3. Electric separation method
A mixture of paper and plastic is fed into the separator by a vibrating feeder, dropped into a rotating grinding drum and then sent to the corona zone formed by the wire electrode and the grinding. The paper is sucked towards the electrode, while the plastic remains attached to the drum and falls to its bottom to be collected as the drum rotates.
Humidity has a great influence on the separation result when this method is used. When the humidity of the mixture is 15%, although the paper and plastic can be separated, the plastic will still be contaminated by a large amount of paper, and when the humidity is raised to more than 50%, the plastic and paper can be completely separated.
