What is the difference between PET material and PE?

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)

Polyethylene terephthalate is a colourless, transparent substance with a certain lustre (unqualified), or an opaque, milky white substance (crystalline). It is difficult to catch fire and burn, but once it has burned, it can continue to burn even though the flame is away from it, it melts when it burns and bursts into pieces, the flame is yellow with an early blue edge, small drops fall, black smoke is emitted and the release mountain carries a slightly sweet, irritating smell. Pure PET performance is very poor, especially the impact strength and heat resistance is particularly poor, but by the glass fiber reinforced, a variety of performance greatly improved.

Polyethylene (PE)

Physical properties: Polyethylene is non-toxic, odourless and milky white. Density of 0.91 ~ 0.96g/cm3 is crystalline plastic. Polyethylene has a certain mechanical strength, but compared with other plastics its mechanical strength is low, the surface hardness is poor.

Polyethylene has excellent insulating properties and is insoluble in any of the known solvents at room temperature and is resistant to dilute sulphuric acid, dilute nitric acid and other acids of any concentration as well as alkalis and salt solutions of various concentrations. Polyethylene has a high degree of water resistance and its properties remain unchanged by long-term exposure to water. Polyethylene is less permeable to water vapour and more permeable to oxygen and carbon dioxide as well as many organic vapours.

Temperature of use - weather resistance: polyethylene ages and becomes brittle under the action of heat, light and oxygen. High pressure polyethylene is generally used at around 800C and low pressure polyethylene at around 1000C. Polyethylene is resistant to cold and still has good mechanical properties at -600C and a certain degree of flexibility at -700C.
